ALEXANDRIA, Va., Feb. 23 First Coast Service Options (FCSO), a Qualified Independent Contractor (QIC) for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), will expand its use of Burgess products to resolve Medicare reimbursement disputes. Burgess is recognized as an industry leader in Medicare reimbursement software solutions.
The Burgess Reimbursement System (BRS) will continue to serve as FCSO's primary engine for computing accurate pricing for disputed Medicare claims. Under this expanded arrangement, FCSO will use the Burgess software solution to resolve reimbursement disputes between health care providers and organizations that offer Medicare Advantage plans such as HMOs and PPOs. This new work is in addition to FCSO's existing work, which involves the resolution of pricing disputes involving private fee-for-service plans.
"The BRS system is a sophisticated tool that helps us resolve provider payment disputes accurately and efficiently," says Curtis Lord, FCSO Vice Chairman. "It is at the core of our payment dispute resolution process and allowed us to accommodate an expanded scope of work." Greg Burgess, Founder and President of Burgess noted, "We look forward to expanding our involvement with FCSO through this CMS contract. Given the national focus on pricing accuracy, we are pleased to be a trusted source for Medicare Advantage payment dispute resolutions."
FCSO contracts with CMS to provide quality administrative services throughout the United States to Medicare beneficiaries and the health care providers who care for them. Services include claims processing, customer service, appeals adjudication, education and outreach activities and functions that help ensure the integrity of Medicare program payments.
