CHICAGO, March 9 Field Trip Factory, the nation's leading provider of hands-on, immersion learning experiences, will host its second annual Dietitian Summit in conjunction with National Nutrition Month. The only forum of its kind, the primary goal of this intimate gathering of leading experts is to help the food industry better support consumer health where it matters most, in the aisles of the nation's grocery stores. The two-day event will be held March 10 - 12, at Hotel Valley Ho, Scottsdale, Arizona.

"We have long believed that education is imperative to the success or failure of any movement, and reaching the next generation of healthy eaters will be critical," said Susan Singer, President and Founder of Field Trip Factory. "By bringing together some of the most influential minds in the industry in an environment that truly fosters trust and an open exchange of ideas, we will move the whole discussion of nutrition forward - and that's good for everyone."

With children's health and nutrition in the national spotlight since Michelle Obama's recently announced "Let's Move" campaign to fight childhood obesity, concern for what goes into our grocery carts and onto our children's plates has dramatically increased interest throughout the food industry and consumer markets. Still, health and nutrition have been at the forefront of educational experiences by Field Trip Factory since its inception in 1992.

Trends and opportunities, public health, meal planning and shopping smart are among the panel topics. Keynote presenter is Dr. Aaron Bernstein, MD, MPH, author and co- editor of "Sustaining Life: How Human Health Depends on Biodiversity." Social media will also play a role both in content and in practice, as the Summit will be tweeted on Twitter @dietitiansummit.
