During a pre-service media briefing on Tuesday, November 25th, faith andcivil society leaders called on the U.S. government to address the preventionneeds of marginalized communities and chart the course for a sustainable andcost-effective response to the global pandemic.
Stating that the realities of people's lives should drive U.S. HIV/AIDSpolicies and funding, Rev. William Sinkford, President of the UnitarianUniversalist Association of Congregations, said that it's "clear that theapproach to HIV/AIDS needs to be country and community specific. We have toaddress the full social and economic contexts in which real people live or thepandemic will continue to spread."
