Perkins to Announce Second Phase of Grassroots Campaign in Four Key States

WASHINGTON, Dec. 8 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Family Research Council (FRC) President Tony Perkins will host a media conference call this afternoon responding to the expected vote by the U.S. Senate on the Nelson-Hatch Amendment which will determine whether abortion funding will remain in the Senate version of the health care overhaul bill. The conference call will take place one half hour after the Senate concludes voting on the Nelson-Hatch Amendment.

Perkins will announce the second phase of FRC Action's grassroots campaign that will target four key states. Family Research Council and other pro-life groups are calling on the Senate to approve the Nelson-Hatch Amendment to ensure the health care bill does not force taxpayers to pay for abortions for the first time in over three decades.
