In comparing sales of all types of thermometers, including national brands and private label products, Nielsen and Information Resources Inc. (IRI) found Exergen came out on top. Exergen's retail unit sales rose an average of about 63 percent more than competing thermometers over the 12 months under review, which ended April 17, 2010, the data indicated.
