COLUMBUS, Ohio, Nov. 12 Entrust Healthcare is pleased to announce Christopher Assif has joined the firm as Managing Partner. Mr. Assif will be responsible for overseeing and expanding the company's work with ambulatory care clients throughout North America.
Mr. Assif brings twenty-five years of healthcare information technology experience to his role with Entrust Healthcare. Mr. Assif started his healthcare career with early industry implementations of enterprise-wide order entry and electronic medical record systems. Since that time, Mr. Assif has been involved in software design and implementation activities for applications offered by companies including Cerner Corporation and McKesson Corporation.
For the past eight years, Mr. Assif has served in roles including strategic advisor and Consulting Partner for numerous healthcare organizations and technology providers including Catholic Health Partners, OhioHealth, Adventist Health Systems, Convergys Corporation, and Smoothstone IP Communications. During this period, Mr. Assif has developed strategic IT plans, business plans and budgets, led systems selection processes and provided executive oversight for system implementations. Mr. Assif has also provided planning input to venture capital and private equity firms including First Analysis, MK Capital and Mesirow Financial.
Mr. Assif has served as a principal and partner with maxIT Healthcare and as a member of the board of directors for Dynamic Healthcare Technologies and Emergisoft Corporation. Assif joins former Cerner colleagues including Dr. Thomas C. Tinstman, Eugene Ridge and Kenneth Olson at Entrust along with Roger Allison and Jim Martini.
On his appointment, Mr. Assif commented, "For healthcare to truly reduce paper and become efficient, the industry must increase use of advanced electronic health records in physician offices. Much attention has been placed on these systems in large health systems but the adoption rate in physician offices is still small. No other firm is focused on this cause in the way Entrust is. Our mission is to help practices budget for, select, implement and manage the best set of applications and technologies for their practice needs. We are committed to insure these practices get the expected benefits of these systems and to comply with yet to be determined 'meaningful use' standards for reimbursement."
