-- Sonoma State University to present clinical data on beverage hydration index of enterade® --

NORWOOD, Mass., June 23, 2017  /PRNewswire/ -- Entrinsic Health

Solutions, Inc., an innovative health sciences company dedicated to the development and commercialization of amino acid-based medical foods to address critical digestive health, nutrition, and hydration-related health issues, today announced the release of clinical data from a study examining the beverage hydration index of enterade® in relation to other alternative rehydrating drinks. The study, conducted in partnership with Sonoma State University and the US Army Research Institute of Environmental Medicine (USARIEM), will be presented at the 14th Annual International Society of Sports Nutrition (ISSN) Conference and Expo. ISSN is being held in Phoenix June 22 - June 24, 2017.

The poster presentation entitled "Beverage Hydration Index comparison of enterade®, oral rehydration solution and sports drink," will be presented on June 24th by Dr. Kurt J. Sollanek, Ph.D., assistant professor of kinesiology at Sonoma State University. The purpose of the study was to assess the beverage hydration index (BHI) of enterade® in comparison to a carbohydrate-containing sports drink and a traditional carbohydrate-containing oral rehydration solution (ORS). A total of 40 subjects completed the study. Results indicate that the calculated BHI of enterade® is greater than water, while the calculated BHI of the sports drink is less than water.  In addition, mean total urine losses for enterade® is significantly less than that of water.

"This study echoes our preclinical data regarding the significant hydration benefits of Entrinsic Health's Amino Acid Coupled Transport platform (A2CT), which enables superior total-body rehydration for better gastrointestinal health and optimal nutrient and electrolyte absorption. We are confident that future studies will continue to highlight enterade® as a leading rehydration solution that is more effective than both water and glucose-based sports drinks, in supporting patient health," said Stephen J Gatto, Chairman & CEO of Entrinsic Health Solutions.

The poster presentation will be available on June 25th in the News & Media section of the Entrinsic Health Solutions website at www.entrinsichealth.com.
