Entertainment Industry Foundation Revlon Run/Walk for Women Celebrates 11 Years in New York City on Saturday, May 3

NEW YORK, April 17 The 11th annual Entertainment IndustryFoundation Revlon Run/Walk For Women -- the largest fundraiser of its kind forwomen's cancers in the nation -- will be held in New York City on Saturday,May 3, 2008. The Run/Walk starts in Times Square and finishes in the EastMeadow of Central Park.

Tiki Barber, of NBC's "The Today Show" and "Football Night in America" andS. Epatha Merkerson, star of the broadway hit "Come Back Little Sheba" andNBC's "Law & Order," together with featured Revlon celebrity brand ambassadorand actress Beau Garrett, will join an expected 40,000 participants for the2008 New York Run/Walk, an annual Entertainment Industry Foundation (EIF)event (the Los Angeles Run/Walk is the following Saturday, May 10).

The EIF Revlon Run/Walk for Women was launched in 1993 through thecombined efforts of Lilly Tartikoff, Ronald O. Perelman and EIF. Sinceinception, nearly $50 million in grants have been made from the combinedevents (New York and Los Angeles).

"Since the first EIF Revlon Run/Walk, hundreds of thousands of women andmen have come out to show their support for this cause -- either personally,or for a loved one. It is their dedication and their commitment to find acure that has made the run so successful," stated Ronald O. Perelman, chairmanof Revlon, Inc., co-founder of the Run/Walk and co-founder of the Revlon/UCLAWomen's Cancer Research Program. He adds, "The resources that are nowavailable as a result of that support has allowed for significant advancementin education and research for this disease that affects so many women today."

Proceeds from past EIF Revlon Run/Walks have funded cutting-edge research,contributing to the development of the breakthrough gene treatmentHerceptin(R) as well as other targeted therapies, bringing new and innovativetreatment approaches to women's cancers worldwide. Monies raised have alsohelped numerous organizations in providing education, advocacy and outreachservices to those affected by women's cancers.

2008 New York event beneficiaries include: The Actors' Fund -- PhyllisNewman Women's Health Initiative, Cancer Control Center of Harlem, CancerCare,Columbia University Breast Cancer Screening Partnership of NY -- PresbyterianHospital, Gilda's Club New York City, Gouveneur Diagnostic and TreatmentCenter; Breast and Cervical Cancer Screening and Early Detection Program,Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, Montefiore-Einstein Cancer Center,Nassau University Medical Center, The William F. Ryan Community HealthNetwork, National Breast Cancer Coalition, National Women's Cancer ResearchAlliance (NWCRA), New York University School of Medicine, Department ofPharmacology, Ovarian Cancer National Alliance, Saint Vincent Catholic MedicalCenters of New York and YWCA of Brooklyn Sister Strength Program.
