Emageon Signs Agreement with Integrated Health Network MultiCare
The agreement comes after an extensive RFP process which evaluated majoras well as several smaller and newer cardiology information and imagingsolutions. Emageon was awarded the final contract to supply its VERICISdigital PACS and HeartSuite hemodynamics solution for four cath labs, including one in which Emageon's Pediatric Echo IMS product will be installed. The HeartSuite VERICIS solution will enable MultiCare to now digitally processits cardiology PACS studies and cath/echo structured reporting forechocardiography.
In addition, MultiCare will also benefit from Emageon's bi-directional HISinterface. This will allow MultiCare's scheduled studies, results and reports- generated within VERICIS - when signed off to be automatically uploaded toits EMR (electronic medical record). This will make the patient informationimmediately available for physician review and/or consultation with surgeonsas well as trigger the billing process for payment.
This will be the first hospital enterprise in the Tacoma area toconsolidate vendor products to give physicians access to all aspects ofcardiac imaging and procedures performed on the patient through the use of atrue multimodality and multimedia Web-based workstation. This includesreports or any type of imaging study from cardiology to radiology.
MultiCare stated, "Our team placed particular emphasis on customerreferences, paying close attention to their individual vendor experiences andproven successes with system installation, staff training, vendor follow-ups,system upgrades, prompt service, and competitive pricing. We found Emageon'scustomer base to be most happy with their installed systems, especially therelative ease with which the HeartSuite VERICIS application was adopted by theintended users, and even more satisfied with Emageon's product support.Additionally, we believe that Emageon's solution will provide us with the mostcomprehensive integrated solution to address our need for a fully Web-basedproduct to include cardiology PACS; hemodynamic charting system; pediatric andadult structured reports; HIS, RIS, and CIS interfacing; and ACC registryreporting."
