Elsevier Partners With HELINET to Strengthen Consortium's Leadership in Health Sciences Education

SINGAPORE and NEW DELHI, August 20, 2010 Elsevier Health Sciences and Helinet, India's premier medical libraryconsortium for e-resources, have announced an agreement that will provide allmedical students at Helinet's medical colleges with access to leadinginternational and local medical content through Elsevier's electronicplatforms: ScienceDirect(R) and MD Consult(R).

The special agreement provides all undergraduates, graduates, researchersand faculty within the Consortium with access to more than 260 journals and50 leading reference books including authoritative titles from the scientificand medical literature such as The Lancet and Cell.

Dr. S.Ramanadshetty, the Vice-Chancellor of Rajiv Ghandhi University ofHealth Sciences, Karnataka, said, "ScienceDirect(R) and MD Consult(R) areuseful and important research tools for us. Our faculty members andresearchers are very comfortable with these resources and I am happy that wecan continue to enable access to all our Medical, Dental, Pharmacy,Physiotherapy and Nursing Colleges with this new agreement."

The Vice-Chancellor added, "As part of our strategy to extend ourportfolio of electronic materials, we also recognised the great value thatElsevier brings to the needs and aims of Helinet and its member institutions."
