Elsevier Appoints Martin O'Malley as Managing Director of New Global Sales Group in Science & Technology Division

AMSTERDAM, July 1, 2010 Elsevier, the leadingpublisher of scientific, technical and medical information, has appointedMartin O'Malley as Managing Director of the newly formed Global Sales &Customer Marketing group in the Science & Technology (S&T) division, whichincludes the sales teams for Academic & Government, Books and CorporateMarkets, effective 1 July.

O'Malley's appointment follows the announced departure of Roy Jakobs,Managing Director for Academic & Government Sales and Customer Marketing.Jakobs will be leaving Elsevier this summer to take a senior position in thelighting division of Philips.

O'Malley's position as Managing Director of Corporate Markets will betaken over by Alexander van Boetzelaer, who will spearhead the continuingeffort to develop Elsevier's corporate business.
