This marks the third annual tour for Elephant Ensemble Theater.  It tells the story of a lazy worker bee forced to venture out of her hive to pollinate a flower.  Through the bee's journey, children learn the importance of honey bees for the environment, and interesting facts about her insect friends, as well as simple words and phrases in five different languages.  The play emphasizes the importance of work ethic, good friends, and how small efforts make a big difference in the world.

The Busy Little Bee will be performed in conjunction with programs developed by ArtWorks, The Naomi Cohain Foundation (www.artworksfoundation.org).

ArtWorks provides children and young adults suffering from chronic and life-threatening illnesses, and their siblings, access to creative and performing arts programs that encourage the use of the creative process as a vehicle for healing, communication, self-expression and personal development. ArtWorks seeks to empower, validate, and honor these children by offering them the hands-on experience and materials with which to create, as well as the opportunity to publicly share their artistic accomplishments.

Stops on Elephant Ensemble's 2010 tour include: Jacobi Medical Center in the Bronx, The Ronald McDonald House in Manhattan, and Maimonides Infants and Children's Hospital of Brooklyn.

Written and Directed by executive director Liza Lentini, the cast of The Busy Little Bee includes Emily Fishman (as the "Bee"), Lindsay MacNaughton, Mollie Lohinski, and Noah Weary.

The Busy Little Bee 2010 tour is made possible by funding from the Ira Sohn Foundation.

This performance is not open to the public.
