Elekta Contract Provides Sisters of Mercy Health System Access to Leading Radiation Therapy Solutions

ATLANTA and ST. LOUIS, Sept. 6 Resource Optimization &Innovation (ROi), a group purchasing organization (GPO) serving St. Louis-based Sisters of Mercy Health System, has signed an agreement with Elekta,enabling members to begin purchasing Elekta's innovative cancer treatmentsolutions.

Under the agreement, Mercy will offer its members the image-guided ElektaSynergy(R) for advanced intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and imageguided radiation therapy (IGRT) utilizing X-ray Volume Imaging, ElektaSynergy(R) S for the delivery of stereotactic radiosurgery and radiotherapythroughout the body, as well as, the unrivaled Elekta Axesse(TM) system forthe delivery of extracranial stereotactic radiation therapy (SRT) andstereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) applications for spinal metastases and otherradiosurgical indications.

The ROi / Sisters of Mercy contract continues Elekta's strongrelationships within the GPO market space. A majority of the top 10 healthcaregroup purchasing organizations in the U.S. now have provider contracts withElekta for radiation oncology, stereotactic radiosurgery and associatedneuroscience products.
