DuPont Focused on Meeting Global Demands for Greater Safety & Protection

SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 18 DuPont Group VicePresident Mark P. Vergnano told investment analysts at the Bank of AmericaSecurities 37th Annual Investor Conference today that the Safety & Protectionbusiness segment is focused on meeting growing global demands for products andservices that protect lives, structures, critical processes and theenvironment.

"DuPont is uniquely positioned to deliver innovations for safety andsecurity at home, at work and in the world around us," Vergnano said. "Wehave broadened the definition of our addressable markets and are advancing arich pipeline of science-based solutions for those markets. The businessopportunities for DuPont in this segment are exceptional."

DuPont Safety & Protection is focused on four key value propositions thatguide its priorities for innovation and investment:

"We are leveraging our globally recognized branded products -- DuPont(TM)Kevlar(R), Nomex(R) and Tyvek(R) -- around the world, while accelerating theintroduction of new products that protect lives and property," Vergnano said.

This year's new product launches include Protera(R) protective clothing,Kevlar(R) New Fiber Technology, Tyvek(R) Silver, Energain(R) mass storagematerials, avian influenza biosecurity kits and Hybrid Membrane Technology forfiltration applications.
