He joined Kyocera and co-founded DDI, growing sales to US$5B in seven years and creating KDDI. He then founded and was CEO of eAccess Ltd, a leading broadband IP operator, which also IPO'd in record time. He founded EMOBILE (now Softbank subsidiary YMobile) and served as CEO and Chairman. He is currently Chairman of Renova Inc, renewable energy generation company. Dr. Semmoto was Professor of Entrepreneurship at Keio University, a visiting professor at University of California, Berkeley, and Carnegie Mellon University, and lecturer at Harvard, Stanford, Northwestern and Cambridge University.
