"It is a unique community outreach program that provides seniors an opportunity to share their experiences and professional expertise with other seniors and the community at large. The Ambassadors remain engaged, purpose oriented and are a fantastic model for healthy aging. I commend HealthCare Partners, IPA for prioritizing this important initiative."

"Our medical groups and IPAs including HealthCare Partners, IPA, provide exclusive programs for seniors designed to maximize patient health, function and ability to live independently, our Ambassador program is just one example." said Dr. Richard Merkin, CEO of HealthCare Partners, IPA, "I am thrilled to have seniors of the five boroughs getting involved with their community and staying healthy all while having fun and continuing to enjoy life!"

Kathy Nix, Executive Vice President and General Manager of HealthCare Partners, IPA believes the Ambassador program is a standout for the seniors and adds value to the five borough communities as well. "We've had great success and response from seniors with our Ambassador Program. We are the only company that I know of to recognize their valuable contributions in this manner as retired professionals. We strive to do everything possible to encourage their participation and input in the community. Our seniors are eager to participate with us in any way they can as ambassadors and the only complaint we hear is they want more hours with us."

The seniors answer phones, send out newsletters about community programs and activities, send out birthday cards to other members, check sign up sheets and exchange computer tips and skills and much more.

Hugh Parsons is 70 years old and has been involved in the Ambassador program for over three years. "As a former accountant, I'm thrilled to have the opportunity to participate in the Ambassador program. At my age, it offers me very stimulating interaction in the work world, insight into the health care sector and meeting other involved seniors in the program. We exchange ideas and help each other with questions and concerns."
