Delray Beach Mayor Commemorates Diagnostic Centers of America (DCA) $2 Million Purchase from Siemens to Become Only Medical Facility in South Florida with World's Most Advanced Cardiac Scanner.

DELRAY BEACH, Fla., Jan. 30 More than 100 local VIPS,physicians and medical staff gathered on Friday, January 25 at DiagnosticCenters of America (DCA) Delray Beach medical facility to commemorate itsinstallation of a revolutionary breakthrough in cardiac and diagnostic medicalimaging, enabling physicians to obtain clearer images of the heart in lesstime than it takes to beat and without the need for beta blockers.

Mayor Rita Ellis cut the ribbon at the medical "open house" party to markthe installation of the new SOMATOM Definition dual source CT system fromSiemens Medical Solutions. Diagnostic Centers of America is now the onlymedical imaging facility in South Florida offering patients the world's mostadvanced computed tomography (CT) technology, following the more than $2million installation.

"We were one of the first facilities to bring digital mammography to thearea and the first center in South Florida to introduce High Field Open MRI.Now DCA boasts the world's most advanced diagnostic scanner with an optimalcombination of the lowest radiation exposure of any medical facility in SouthFlorida and the fastest examination time," said Diagnostic Centers of AmericaCEO Steven Shullman.

The medical 'Open House' party at 6298 Linton Boulevard presentedattendees with a first-ever look at the latest breakthrough in cardiac anddiagnostic imaging. Dual X-ray sources supply twice the imaging power whilereducing radiation exposure by as much as 50 percent than the most advancedsingle-source CT systems. It also serves patients not previously eligible forcardiac CT exams because of conditions that preclude use of beta blockers andcan reduce the need for invasive diagnostic cardiac procedures. The highestimage quality can also be obtained when examining patients who are obese,short of breath or who have elevated heart rates.
