PLAINVIEW, N.Y., Nov. 14 On Thursday, Nov. 15, DavisVision and members of the New York Jets Women's Organization (JWO) are joiningforces to bring an early Thanksgiving meal to 400 people in need. The meal wassponsored by the Interfaith Nutrition Network (the INN), a nonprofit,volunteer-based organization on Long Island, NY, which addresses the problemsof hunger and homelessness.
"For many years, Davis Vision has been partnering with the INN by donatingclothing for the cold months and sponsoring a food drive for Thanksgiving,"said Laura Dyer, Davis Vision assistant vice president, Strategic Events andCommunity Relations. "Davis Vision believes it is important to supportcommunities where we work and do business, and this project demonstrates ourcommitment to this organization."
"Each year's event is so successful that we felt it was important tocontinue the tradition again this year," said Julie Mangini, wife of Jets headcoach, Eric Mangini. "Without the support of community-minded organizationslike Davis Vision, the JWO would not be able to do as many wonderfulcharitable events like this."
Over 15 members of the Jets Women's Organization are expected toparticipate in serving the homeless shelter's meal.
