Cynosure Appoints Marina Hatsopoulos to Board of Directors

WESTFORD, Mass., Nov. 18 Cynosure, Inc.(Nasdaq: CYNO), a leading developer and manufacturer of a broad array oflight-based aesthetic treatment systems, today announced the appointment ofMarina Hatsopoulos, 43, to the Company's seven-member Board of Directors.Hatsopoulos replaces Paul Kelleher, 65, who has resigned to pursue otherinterests. Hatsopoulos will serve on the Board's Audit and CompensationCommittees. Board member George Vojta will succeed Paul Kelleher as Chairmanof the Audit Committee.

Hatsopoulos is currently a director of the GSI Group (Nasdaq: GSIG), whichsupplies precision motion control products, lasers and laser-based advancedmanufacturing systems in the global medical, semiconductor, electronics andindustrial markets. She also is a Director of Tea Forte, which sellsaward-winning premium tea-related products into the gift and hotel market.Hatsopoulos serves on the Advisory Board of the annual Nantucket Conference,which brings together entrepreneurs, investors, technologists and executives.

Hatsopoulos was the founding CEO of Z Corporation, a market leader in 3Dprinting, from 1994 through its sale in 2005. Prior to founding ZCorporation, she worked in corporate finance for the Energy Industry at TheChase Manhattan Bank in New York, negotiating $2.5 billion in financing deals.Her experience also includes operational roles at various Thermo ElectronCorporation subsidiaries, where she headed up special projects in mergers andacquisitions, marketing and project management.

Recently Hatsopoulos became a founding member of the newly formed AdvisoryBoard for the Massachusetts Institute of Technology's Deshpande Center forTechnological Innovation. The Deshpande Center serves as a catalyst forinnovation and entrepreneurship by funding early-stage research to help newtechnologies emerge.

Hatsopoulos graduated with a B.A. in Pure Mathematics and a B.A. in Musicfrom Brown University. She received her M.S. in Mechanical Engineering fromMIT.
