SAN FRANCISCO, Nov. 13 Custom Spine, a company dedicated to offering advanced spinal solutions, launched two new innovative spine systems at the North American Spine Society's (NASS) annual meeting being held in San Francisco.

Pathway AVID is a unique articulating vertebral interbody device, which consists of three intra-linked PEEK-OPTIMA® spacers that are sequentially articulated inside the disc space. The interbody is inserted in a non-articulated position using a standard transforaminal approach. Once the device is in the disc space, each segment is articulated using the customized inserter to create an interbody with a large footprint that follows the natural curvature of the spine to increase stability and support.

"The larger footprint and ability to better position the interbody in the disc space has the potential to offer patients a reduction in post-operative pain and a quicker return to work," commented John McClellan, M.D. of the Nebraska Spine Center. "We are excited about the initial outcomes and are examining how this device may improve fusion rates as well."

Custom Spine also introduced, Regent ACP, at this year's NASS meeting. The anterior cervical plate system was designed with innovative self-locking slides that allow a variety of constructs to be created while providing the surgeon with confidence that the screws are fully locked in place. The system also allows for a large range of bone screw angulation for added treatment flexibility.

"We are excited to launch these two new products at this year's NASS meeting," commented Lew Bennett, President. "These products demonstrate the commitment of our organization to innovation and to providing advanced solutions for the patient and surgeon's well being."
