WHAT: The Council for American Medical Innovation will host a breakfast briefing on Capitol Hill titled "Education and Immigration: The Building Blocks of Innovation." Speakers will share their experiences and insights regarding the impact of education and immigration policy on America's ability to innovate. Improving the quality of Pre-K through 12th grade science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education and enacting policies that attract and retain the best and brightest minds from around the world are crucial to advancing breakthroughs in the life sciences and medicine in America.

This is the first in a three-part briefing series that will examine the role of public policy in promoting medical innovation to help our nation recover from health and economic crises. Specifically, these briefings will address education and immigration (on September 10), translational research (on September 17) and creating incentives for medical innovation (on October 5).
