WHAT: The Walter E. Washington Convention Center has been transformed into the nation's largest doctors' office for today's one-day, massive free clinic for the uninsured sponsored by the National Association of Free Clinics (NAFC). Organizers expect more than 1,000 patients from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for the clinic, which fills the 128,000 square feet of Exhibit Hall C.

WHEN: All day today. Media can get in during the morning before doors open to patients at 11:00 a.m., as well as throughout the day.
WHY: The clinic will provide basic primary and preventive care to uninsured people from the Washington area, including Maryland and Virginia. More than 1,000 uninsured people are expected to attend.
