ATLANTA, May 5 Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Georgia, Inc., Blue Cross Blue Shield Healthcare Plan of Georgia, Inc. (BCBSGA) and Greater Georgia Life Company announced today that Monye Connolly will be leaving the company of her own accord in order to devote more time to her family and pursue other interests. Ms. Connolly has served as President and General Manager of the respective companies since 2006 and will remain in her current role until a successor is named.

Having been with BCBSGA for more than 24 years, Connolly previously served as vice president and general manager of the Individual and Small Group market segments where she had overall responsibility for sales, underwriting, claims, customer service, and membership and billing, in addition to accountability for profit and loss. Her prior experience also includes oversight of the product development, sales support, and Large Group market segment.

In addition, Connolly has served as vice president of network management where she was responsible for all physician, hospital, and health care clinician contracting and reimbursement, provider relations, and provider operations throughout Georgia.
