Prometheus Research, a leading provider of web-enabled database software for biomedical researchers and business, was recognized for its work with an award by the state Governor M. Jodi Rell for its "dedication and commitment to excellence in technology innovation as a small business and for its contributions to Connecticut in technology-focused research and development."
Recently, Prometheus Research, based here, won a $136,500 National Science Foundation grant to create a working, web-enabled database software prototype that will install and configure at low cost, will have minimal support against any database type, will navigate easily, perform inquiries, and will share results via the Web.
The prototype, called Prometheus Data Publisher, is an application allowing non-technical users to web-enable entire databases, select tables or columns, and easily render any database "browsable."
