Each year 1 in 5 people become sick with influenza. One flu shot can savea business more than a $1,000 in lost time by an employee who is notvaccinated and comes down with the flu. Concentra plans to administer 280,000flu vaccine doses across the country during the 2007-2008 flu season.

In a report released in 2006, the CDC documented the spread of theinfluenza virus across the United States. The information determined that thewestern-most regions, including the Pacific, Mountain, and Southwest statesexperienced an early and extended outbreak of the flu virus beginning inOctober and peaking in mid-December. The CDC expects to have the largestnumber of doses ever, up to 132 million flu vaccine doses during the 2007-2008flu season -- 12 million more than were produced last year.
