Companion Data Services Achieves ISO Certification for Quality Management

COLUMBIA, S.C., June 2 Companion Data Services, LLC (CDS)today announced that it has achieved International Organization forStandardization (ISO) 9001:2000 certification, the most widely acceptedstandard for quality management.

CDS provides information technology and data processing services tosupport public health insurance programs administered by the federal Centersfor Medicare & Medicaid Services. CDS processes nearly 2 million Medicarehealth care claims per day. ISO 9001:2000-certified processes help ensureeffective, high-quality operations in this important federal program, whichnearly 45 million people depend on for their health care services.

ISO 9001:2000 certification requires organizations to develop and adhereto stringent quality management standards and to have controls in place toensure consistent and effective processes. Certification also requirescontinuous improvement and monitoring of customer-satisfaction measures.Companies are required to pass a thorough audit of all quality managementprocesses prior to receiving certification.
