Community Coalition: Stop the Killings

PHILADELPHIA, Sept. 12 Composer and civicleader Kenny Gamble will be the featured speaker at tonight's kickoff of theStop The Killing Coalition, a citizens' initiative to fight gun violence usingcommunity-based efforts.

The gun violence that plagues Philadelphia must be fought on the communitylevel, and citizens with the support of area labor leaders and others arecoming together to take up the struggle.

Mr. Gamble will be speaking at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday September 12 at 1319Locust Street, District 1199C of the National Union of Hospital and HealthCare Employees AFSCME-AFL-CIO; Henry Nicholas, President.
