The Community Clinic Access to Care Grant program is a commitment by theSutter Health network of physicians, not-for-profit hospitals and other healthcare service providers to improve access to needed health care services -- inthe communities we serve -- to those who cannot afford to pay.

"This is about reaching beyond the walls of our physicians' offices andhospitals and into the community to expand community access to quality healthcare," says Sutter Health President and CEO Patrick Fry. "Through this grantprogram, we're pleased to be able to further support community health clinicsthat are providing vital services to individuals and families in need."
Checks from Sutter Health -- ranging from $50,000 to $100,000 -- will bedelivered to the recipient health centers over the next few weeks. The fundswill be used for chronic disease management programs, educational outreach,mobile medical and dental units, expansion of pediatric care, and thepurchasing of new computer and testing equipment.
"We are thrilled to receive this significant $50,000 grant from SutterHealth," says Viveka Rydell, CEO of Sonoma County-based Pediatric DentalInitiative (PDI). "It will help PDI increase the number of patients receivingdental surgery services and expand our prevention education and outreachefforts -- all vital services that otherwise may be cut during difficulteconomic times."
