Chindex signed its second contract for the sale of a new daVinci Ssystem in mainland China, demonstrating strong interest and demand for thiscutting-edge, minimally-invasive surgical technology, which was approved bythe State Food and Drug Administration (SFDA) of the People's Republic ofChina in July 2008.
The sale of the Intuitive Surgical daVinci S robotic surgical system is toDitan Hospital in Beijing, a 600 bed, top-level municipal hospital with aparticularly strong focus on the prevention and treatment of infectiousdiseases and treating complications of liver disease. The Hospital isplanning to move shortly into new state of the art hospital facilities and thedaVinci S robotic surgical system will be an important feature in their modelsurgical suite.
