Centre Medical and Surgical Associates Selects Allscripts Electronic Health Record and Practice Management Solution

CHICAGO and STATE COLLEGE, Pa., Aug. 27 Allscripts, the leading provider of clinical software, connectivity andinformation solutions that physicians use to improve healthcare, announcedtoday that Centre Medical and Surgical Associates, P.C. (CMSA) has selectedthe company's Electronic Health Record (EHR) and Practice Management (PM)solution for its 69 providers.

Centre Medical and Surgical Associates is one of the largestmulti-specialty physician groups in Central Pennsylvania, with 53 physiciansand 16 mid-level providers in offices located in State College, Boalsburg,Bellefonte, and Huntingdon, Pennsylvania. CMSA is replacing its financialautomation system with Allscripts -- and adding the Allscripts ElectronicHealth Record -- to improve its ability to provide high quality care morecost-effectively.

The Allscripts Electronic Health Record enables physicians to instantlyaccess patient information when and where they need it -- in the clinic, atthe hospital or while on-call at home. The web-based solution speeds andautomates everyday clinical tasks such as prescribing and refillingmedications, ordering and viewing tests, and documenting care. More thansimply automating manual tasks, the Electronic Health Record helps totransform healthcare with breakthroughs in connectivity including preloadedconnections to a range of medical devices, and seamless support for public andprivate pay-for-performance and quality initiatives, as well as an advanceduser experience that lets physicians in any specialty easily configure thesystem to their own specific needs.

The Allscripts Practice Management solution combines sophisticatedscheduling and Revenue Cycle Management tools in a single package andincorporates advanced features such as rule-based appointment scheduling,multi-resource and recurring appointment features, referral and eligibilityindicators, and appointment and claims management.
