MONTREAL and MURRAY HILL, N.J., Oct. 11 Alcatel-Lucent(Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) and SSP Telecom, an Alcatel-Lucent businesspartner based in Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, today announced that Centre De SanteEt De Services Sociaux Haut-Richelieu-Rouville (CSSS HRR), Quebec, hasselected Alcatel-Lucent to help upgrade the health care provider's wired andwireless data infrastructure across its 14 sites.
As part of the network transformation, an advanced IP network for CSSS HRRthat leverages a wide range of Alcatel-Lucent's product portfolio, includingIP core routing, edge access and centralized management and security will beprovided. SSP Telecom is providing installation, deployment, programmanagement and maintenance for the new network.

The Alcatel-Lucent solution includes the award winning OmniSwitch 9700,which provides resiliency and security features through the Alcatel-LucentOperating System (AOS), and is optimized for use in the network core andaggregation layer where large amounts of user data are consolidated for 10Gigabit connections. The Alcatel-Lucent OmniSwitch 6850-P24 at the edge, andsecurity features include network access control via Alcatel-Lucent AccessGuardian, and malicious attack containment provided by the Alcatel-LucentQuarantine Manager.
