Centene's Indiana Subsidiary Selected for Healthy Indiana Plan and Hoosier Healthwise Contract

LOUIS, June 15, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- Centene Corporation (NYSE: CNC) announced today that its wholly-owned Indiana subsidiary, Managed Health Services (MHS), has been selected to begin contract negotiations with the Indiana Family & Social Services Administration to provide risk-based managed care services for enrollees in the Healthy Indiana Plan and Hoosier Healthwise programs. The new contract is expected to commence on January 1, 2017.

The new contract's structure will provide coordinated healthcare services to approximately 1 million enrollees. Under the new contract, MHS will extend its 20 years of experience in Indiana to enrollees via a network of more than 1,950 primary care providers and 8,700 specialists.

MHS has operated as a managed care entity in Indiana since the Medicaid program's inception in 1995 and currently employs approximately 700 people across the state.
