Centene Foundation for Quality Healthcare Awards Grant for Scholarships

ST. LOUIS, Sept. 16 The Centene Foundation for QualityHealthcare announced today that it has awarded a $3,500 grant to the ArizonaHealth Care Foundation to support their scholarship program for qualifiedindividuals who work in the long-term care arena, including both skillednursing facilities and assisted living communities. The awards are designed tosupport staff working in Arizona Health Care Association (AHCA) memberfacilities so that they can continue formal education in health care fields.

The majority of the scholarship applicants are certified nursingassistants and caregivers seeking to become physical therapy aids, licensedpractical nurses, and registered nurses. Applicants must be employed one yearin a long-term care setting prior to applying for scholarship funds.Scholarship awards are open to staff in all departments, including nursing,rehabilitation, marketing, food service, business and social service.Recipients of the award are selected by the Arizona Health Care FoundationBoard of Directors.
