Since the inaugural race five years ago the event has become one of the largest of its kind in the United States. This year the Los Angeles based run/walk launched "Sleepwalkers Across America®," a signature team to allow anyone, anywhere to participate in the event. Sleepwalkers are fully registered walkers or runners who join in the event wherever they live. In addition to the 4,500 participants in Los Angeles, walks took place in other cities including New York, Miami, Chicago and Austin, Texas. This is the largest number of participants in the event's five-year history.
