Care Improvement Plus Launches 2009 Benefits in Georgia

ATLANTA, Oct. 27 In preparation for the upcoming Medicareannual enrollment period which begins November 15th, Care Improvement Plustoday announced the launch of its 2009 Special Needs Plan (SNP) offerings forchronically ill Medicare beneficiaries in Georgia, including new enhancementsto added benefits and care management services to help members better managetheir health.

"For 2009, we are continuing to focus on providing specialized benefitsthat go beyond what many Medicare plans offer, aimed at improving quality ofcare and controlling healthcare costs," said Frederick C. Dunlap, boardchairman and chief executive officer of XLHealth, which owns and operates CareImprovement Plus. "Beneficiaries with conditions such as diabetes and heartfailure have significantly different healthcare needs, which is why CareImprovement Plus such an important option for beneficiaries with chronicillnesses in Georgia to consider."

Approximately 240,000 Medicare beneficiaries in Georgia are eligible tojoin Care Improvement Plus, which focuses exclusively on beneficiariesdiagnosed with diabetes, heart failure, end stage renal disease (ESRD) and/orchronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). The plan is currently thelargest chronic condition special needs plan in the state, with more than15,500 members.
