HARRISBURG, Pa., Jan. 12 Capital BlueCross is pleased to announce that all eligible claims the company is aware of have been resolved for former Turbine Airfoil Designs (TAD) employees who lost health care coverage when their company failed to pay its premiums and subsequently went out of business.

Last March, Capital BlueCross notified these employees that TAD had not been paying its health insurance premiums since October, and that their coverage had to be terminated, in some cases retroactive to October. Capital BlueCross has since met with the former TAD employees to review their claims from this five-month timeframe, while also meeting with area providers to work out an arrangement to get the claims paid. With the cooperation and assistance of the providers, particularly those with the majority of the claims such as Holy Spirit Hospital and Pinnacle Health, an agreement was met and the claims have been finalized with nothing owed by the former Capital BlueCross members.

"We are very grateful to our provider friends in the community for making this happen," said Bill Lehr, Capital BlueCross president & CEO. "These former TAD employees have suffered a great deal with the loss of their jobs and benefits. Now, they no longer need to worry about unpaid claims that resulted from these circumstances that were beyond their control."
