CVS/pharmacy Offers Flu Vaccinations in Over 4,000 Stores

WOONSOCKET, R.I., Sept. 19 CVS/pharmacy todayannounced that it will help keep America healthy this winter by offering fluvaccinations in over 4,000 of its stores across the country. The flu shotclinics will begin in select markets on October 1, 2007 and continue throughNovember. For dates, times and specific locations, customers may call1-800-SHOP-CVS and choose option #1, or visit the CVS.com online Store Finderto locate a CVS/pharmacy flu shot clinic in their area.

"The annual flu shot clinics at CVS/pharmacy are part of our commitment tohelp communities stay healthy," said Papatya Tankut, R.Ph., Vice President ofPharmacy Professional Services at CVS/pharmacy. "By offering convenientlocations for flu vaccinations, we're providing additional opportunities forpeople across the country to get vaccinated before the peak flu seasonbegins."

The Centers for Disease Control recommends a yearly flu vaccinationespecially for people ages 50 and older, people with chronic diseases such asdiabetes, asthma and heart disease, and health care providers. Last year,nearly 400,000 people received flu shots at CVS/pharmacy.

Age restrictions and the cost of a flu shot at CVS/pharmacy will vary bylocation. Vaccines for Medicare Part B beneficiaries who present theirMedicare Card will be available at no charge, provided they have not assignedtheir Medicare benefits to a private Health Maintenance Organization.
