"CPhI Worldwide experienced record-breaking attendance in Madrid in 2009 with over 25,000 attendees, despite the fact that the market was in financial downturn. "Since the last staging of the events in Madrid, CPhI Worldwide and collocated brands have grown beyond 27,000 attendees and we wanted to ensure that our venue choice for 2012 would facilitate continued growth."
Following the 2009 events in Madrid, visitor and exhibitor surveys provided universally positive feedback indicating that the city was among the popular destinations for the events, offering access to the Southern European markets. In 2012, this positive feedback will serve as a backdrop to what is expected to be the largest edition of the events, where attendees can successfully launch new products, build their brands and make new connections while also getting a chance to see what the competition is doing and what new trends are happening in the industry all in one place.
Full details of the 2012 events, including the twenty fourth edition of CPhI Worldwide, will be announced later this year. However, some highlights will include the popular networking sessions in a new, midday lunch briefings format, in addition to the CPhI Innovation Awards and the Speakers' Corner which will provide an extra meeting place between exhibitors and visitors. For the fourth year, the events will feature a pre-show conference programme, in a multi-track format, offering 30-minute seminar modules on topical pharma themes. In 2010 the conference series saw a 45% increase in attendance over 2009 numbers.
