SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 18 Hospital workers outraged byproposed cuts at California Pacific Medical Center will picket outside thePacific campus on Thursday in protest of the plan by hospital management toeliminate positions at all CPMC facilities.

The proposed cuts would have a severe impact on patient care at all of theCPMC medical campuses in the city. Workers believe the cuts are part of alarger plan by Sutter Health to reorganize hospital services in the city,which also includes the potential closure of St. Luke's Hospital in theMission District.

Caregivers represented by SEIU United Healthcare Workers-West will bejoined by elected officials and other leaders to voice their concern and raisepublic awareness of this threat to the community's healthcare infrastructure.
