The ratings come from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The stars are used to give consumers easy to understand guidance about the quality of hospital care. Annie Penn Hospital, The Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital, Wesley Long Hospital and Women's have been awarded five-star ratings. Alamance Regional Medical Center earned three stars.
