As part of this effort, MD On-Line has launched a co-branded web portal (www.cignamdol.com) to allow health care professionals to submit their claims transactions electronically at no additional cost, and will actively market its offering to those currently submit claims on paper. CIGNA joins the more than 30 other carriers who also have teamed with MD On-Line for this initiative.
Under this new arrangement, health care professionals that currently submit 100% of their claims to CIGNA on paper may be eligible for special offers and discounts that may allow them to qualify for free services if they convert to electronic claims submission.
"This initiative is part of CIGNA's overall effort to offer hospitals and healthcare professionals more choice among national and regional vendors, reduce paperwork, and enhance service all at a lower cost," said Albert C. Leavengood, CIGNA Claim Intake Lead.
"We have been eager to add CIGNA to our relationship roster for some time," said Bill Bartzak, President and CEO of MD On-Line. "Now, we look forward to helping to convert their paper-submitted providers so that they can realize the cost saving and time efficiency of electronic claims submission, and helping CIGNA achieve their goal of helping to reduce paperwork and enhance service at lower costs."
