NovellusDx and OutSense voted winners of startup pitch competition

PALO ALTO, Calif., June 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- California Israel Chamber of Commerce

(CICC) announced the success of its' CiMED 2017 Conference, showcasing innovative Israeli MedTech startups. CICC contributes to stronger commercial ties between Silicon Valley, Israel and global companies.

Held at Oracle's Headquarters on June 7th, attendees included top-tier investors, medical professionals, insurance companies, service providers and other players in the healthcare industry.  Safra Catz, CEO of Oracle, opened the conference. Keynotes were given by Laurence J. Marton, Chair Emeritus, Department of Laboratory Medicine, at UCSF; Josh Makower, General Partner, NEA; and Eric N. Marton, CEO, Verity Physician Network.

NovellusDx and OutSense were voted the winners of the startup pitch competition by two distinguished group of judges.

"NovellusDx is dedicated to delivering the actionable intelligence that oncologists require to choose the right therapy for each patient," said Haim Gil-Ad, Co-Founder & CEO. "Physicians and patients will be able to identify the best course of care—ultimately reducing the cost to the healthcare system and the patient as well."

OutSense is developing the world's first IoT medical sensor, enabling early detection of illness and precise optimization of the digestive system to improve personal wellness. Ishay Attar, Founder and Chairman, explains that "a major physiological status report for each person is generated daily in the form of our biological excretions." This information is currently flushed down the toilet, but OutSense uses innovative imaging technologies and sophisticated cognitive computing algorithms to reveal and analyze such data. Of the conference, Attar said "the CICC has a professional 'A' team in place, who did a great job for OutSense. CiMED successfully achieved extensive exposure for us in Silicon Valley – their network includes top-notch investors, strategics and advisors. I enjoyed meeting them, presenting, learning and winning."

"CiMED provides a unique opportunity for the Israeli startups, investors, corporates, hospitals and medical centers in the US to discuss innovation and opportunities for collaboration," said Talia Cohen, Executive Director of the CICC. The startups delegation included visits to Seton Medical Center, O'Connor hospital, Stanford Center for Genomics and Personalized Medicine, Invitae and Verily.

CiMED sponsors included Oracle, Silicon Valley Bank, and the Israel Economic Mission.
