In the news release, "IBA Dosimetry Showcases Blue Phantom[2] Radiation Therapy Commissioning Innovation at AAPM" issued on 19 Jul 2010 12:00 GMT, by IBA Dosimetry over PR Newswire, we are advised by a representative of the company that in the first paragraph, the third web link in brackets should read: http://www.iba-dosimetry.com/complete-solutions/radiotherapy/ relative-dosimetry/blue-phantom-2 as incorrectly transmitted by PR Newswire. Complete, corrected release follows:

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania, July 19, 2010 /PRNewswire/ -- IBA Dosimetry (http://www.iba-dosimetry.com/), member of IBA Group (http://www.iba-worldwide.com/gateway), will showcase its latest innovation in radiation therapy commissioning solutions, the Blue Phantom[2] (http://www.iba-dosimetry.com/complete-solutions/radiotherapy/relative- dosimetry/blue-phantom-2) water phantom equipped with advanced Linear Diode Array technology (LDA-99SC) (http://www.iba-dosimetry.com/complete-solutions /radiotherapy/relative-dosimetry/lda-99), at the American Association of Physicists in Medicine (AAPM) Annual Meeting in Philadelphia, July 18 - 22, 2010 (booth # 611). The LDA-99SC enables hospitals to shorten the time between installation and clinical use of new radiation therapy equipment, resulting in swifter patient treatment.

Linear diode array technology is used by medical physicists to gain more data in a dramatically shortened amount of time. Compared to traditional methods, where only one detector measures the dose output of the linear accelerator in a lengthy point-by-point approach, the LDA-99SC measures an entire dose profile at once; a full 40cm field profile is measured in less than one second. Exceptionally high data accuracy is accomplished by the highest detector spacing resolution available, in combination with an advanced, multi-scanning routine that performs automatic shifts and measurements of the LDA-99SC with an accuracy down to 0.5 mm. Time-consuming beam measurements can now be completed up to three times faster, resulting in accelerated initial commissioning and annual linear accelerator quality assurance checks. This new technology enables medical physicists to spend considerably less time on routine data acquisition, and more time on actual clinical work.

"I have been using IBA's water phantom for five years, and based on our good experience with the product and the company's service we have recently decided to upgrade to the new Blue Phantom[2]," said Joe Presser M.Sc., South Nassau Communities Hospital, Oceanside, NY. "I am especially impressed with the overall accuracy and speed that the new phantom and acceptance software provides."

Launched in 2009, the Blue Phantom[2] is the only modular, 3D water phantom for commissioning, testing and regular quality assurance in radiation therapy. IBA Dosimetry, dedicated to providing solutions for medical physicists around the world, has introduced a range of accessories, such as the LDA-99SC and acceptance software, to further optimize commissioning work.

"At IBA Dosimetry, we respect the important work performed by medical physicists around the world every day, and their dedication to radiation therapy accuracy and safety," said Ralf Schira, vice president, marketing at IBA Dosimetry. "With the new features of the Blue Phantom[2], in particular the LDA-99SC, we continue our long history of providing trendsetting and market leading solutions to over 3,500 medical physics customers worldwide that enable them to execute their work in the fastest, most accurate and most reliable way."
