Marc Russo Named Vice President of Senior Markets at Blue Shield of California
SAN FRANCISCO, Sept. 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Blue Shield of California announced today the appointment of Marc Russo as Vice President of Senior Markets within the company's Individual, Small Group, and Government Business Unit (ISGBU). Russo will be responsible for strategy, business planning, growth, and overall results for ISGBU's Senior lines of business. He will also oversee Medicare compliance and development of new products for seniors. Russo will be based in Woodland Hills, Calif.

Most recently, as Regional President at UnitedHealthcare, Russo was responsible for strategy, membership growth and retention, product design, compliance, and integrating new health plans for the western region. He was ultimately accountable for the performance and profitability of a 13-state region for Medicare Advantage. Russo was previously Regional Vice President for government programs at Oxford Health Plans.
Russo received his bachelor's degree from the University of Connecticut and his MBA from the University of Maryland.
