BOSTON, April 11, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- This summer, iRewardHealth and The Greater Boston Food Bank will launch a three month event, inviting Boston professionals to come together in a push for better health. Boston has been steadily climbing the list of Forbes' list of healthiest cities, and the goal of the initiative will be to raise the city's status from #3 to #1, while raising money to provide nutritious meals for those in need. Companies will sponsor employees, paying them cash to make healthier choices each day. Businesses will compete against one another for the title of Boston's Healthiest Company.

BRH participants will have access to exclusive events in the community including cooking classes, fitness classes, skill building sessions, and will culminate in a celebration of the participants' hard work.  Most exciting, a portion of the event's proceeds will be donated to The Greater Boston Food Bank and employees will have the ability to donate earnings.

iRewardHealth is a health incentive application that rewards healthy actions with cash. Founded by a team of behavioral scientists, iRH uses machine learning to adapt individually and effectively to motivate behavior change. The company's mission is to expand the impact they've had in a local clinical setting with the development of a digital solution that will reach further.

Through the commitment of supporters, partners, staff, partners, and volunteers, The Greater Boston Food Bank works passionately to end hunger by providing neighbors in need with food and resources. GBFB is the largest hunger-relief organization in New England and last year, distributed 57.7 million pounds of food to people who struggle to have enough to eat. Currently, GBFB is focused on increasing that distribution, with the goal of providing at least one healthy a day to those in need in Eastern Massachusetts. Boston Rewards Health seeks to assist with that goal.

Together, iRewardHealth, GBFB, and the city of Boston can change the way Boston interacts with its health. iRewardHealth's CEO, Rick McCartney, thinks BRH will leave it's mark:

"All it takes are a few positive steps a day to make a powerful and lasting impact."
