The report also finds that Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan positioneditself to win new business from the auto makers with the launch of itsMedicare Advantage private fee-for-service plan (PFFS) that has more than240,000 members across the country, making it the second-largest PFFS carrierin the country. The Blue plan has also been successful at transitioningMedicare prescription drug plan members into more lucrative Medicare Advantageproducts.

"As long as the federal government's reimbursement for the PFFS productcontinues to make it attractive for insurers, the Michigan Blue plan will beone of the leading carriers of it," said Byrne.
