Entries will be judged by Lisa Hayes, Assistant Professor in Fashion Design from the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts and Design at Drexel University. The first-place winner for the most creative bra will receive a $500 Nordstrom gift certificate. The second-place winner will receive a $250 gift certificate.
Teens from across the Philadelphia area have entered the event, including students from Radnor High School, Episcopal Academy, and Great Valley Middle School.
"With 1 in 8 women projected to get breast cancer in their lifetime, it is critically important to raise awareness of this disease," says Cynthia Leary, department manager for lingerie and Certified Bra and Prosthesis Specialist at Nordstrom. "And, we need to find responsible, age-appropriate ways to educate the next generation of girls. That's why we're honored to host this event and to support the great work that Breastcancer.org does to inform and empower women of all ages."
Proceeds from the bra entry contest will go to Breastcancer.org. There will be an opportunity to donate to Breastcancer.org at the Saturday event.
