Baseball Legend Jim Palmer Visits Round Rock To 'Strike Out High Cholesterol'

Jim Palmer, Hall-of-Famer and former Baltimore Orioles pitcher, will makea special appearance at The Dell Diamond for the Round Rock Express vs.Albuquerque Isotopes game. In town with Strike Out High Cholesterol: AProgram to Help Lower LDL Levels, Palmer will share his personal experiencewith high cholesterol.

Despite leading a healthy lifestyle as an athlete, Palmer struggled withhigh LDL or "bad" cholesterol levels. After speaking with his doctor, helearned that managing the condition was not only about food choices, but alsofamily health history. Adopted at birth and unaware of his background, Palmeris particularly passionate about helping others understand the role of foodand family in maintaining healthy cholesterol levels.

At the game, Palmer will help recognize Taylor Fire Department for beatingall the other houses in Williamson County and winning the Heart-HealthyChallenge - a nationwide competition among firefighters that tested theirgeneral heart-health knowledge. A local firefighter will join Palmer at thepitcher's mound to throw the first pitch.

Strike Out High Cholesterol: A Program to Help Lower LDL Levels aims toraise awareness about the two sources of cholesterol, food and family, and thedangers of high LDL, or "bad," cholesterol.
