Weiner, who is now in his fifth year at the College, teaches a range of courses including Psychiatric Nursing and Success in Nursing. He said he enjoys teaching at BHCC because of the diversity of the students and the fact that many of them are older, with a great deal of life experience. Weiner said he also appreciates being able to work in a community college setting, where there is such great potential for student success.

"Howard Weiner is a very humble man and it is no surprise that he was nominated," said Dr. Roxanne Mihal, BHCC Dean of Nurse Education & Health professions. "He is an outstanding professor who reaches out to the students and always extends himself beyond the classroom."

BHCC's Nursing Program has been in existence for more than 30 years. Approximately 80% of students enrolled in the program will graduate in two years and are eligible to sit for their Registered Nurse Licensure examination.
