BOULDER, Colo., Feb. 2 Krill oil manufacturer Azantis Inc. received the 2009 Growth Award from the industry leading Nutrition Business Journal and The NBJ Summit. Azantis grew its 2009 sales more than 300 percent in a highly competitive market.

In 2009 Azantis captured a thirty percent market share in the United States. "The winner of the Nutrition Business Journal's 2009 Growth Award proved that double-digit sales expansion is always possible - even in the midst of tough economic times," the Nutrition Business Journal writes in the January 2010 NBJ Business Achievement Award & Executive Review edition. Adding: "With the recession dragging down consumer confidence and freezing access to capital, growth did not come easy for most companies last year."
Azantis received the 2009 Growth Award in the category Small Companies: Revenues Under $10 Million. A second winner in the same category was Zevia LLC, which sells a stevia sweetened soft drink line. Annie's, manufacturer of natural snacks and meals, won the 2009 Growth Award in the Mid-Size category. Winners in the Large-Size growth category were Living Essentials (energy drinks) and Europa Sports Products (distribution and supply chain management).
NBJ Business Achievement Awards are given every January. The 2009 winners will be honored at the 2010 NBJ Summit Awards Dinner on July 22, 2010, at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort in Dana Point, California.
